There are many chemicals in tobacco smoke, most of which are active and harm nearly every organs in the body system. Presence of nicotine in smokes makes it difficult for smokers to quit smoking. Cigarettes contain chemicals that are poisonous and some leads to cancer. Smoking affect organs of the body system.

Effects of smoking in the organs of the body system include: 
Nervous System
It affect the CNS by producing nicotine which is a mood-altering drug that reaches the brain in a short time. Sometimes when you smoke, you feel more energized but after a little while, you feel more tired. That is the effect of nicotine. Smoking have effect on other organs of the nervous system such as cataracts, sense of taste and smell weakens. Smoking also increases womans risk of cervical cancer.

Digestive Systems
Use of tobacco can cause gum inflammation, lead to tooth
decay and bad breath. There is also a high risk of cancer of the kidney, mouth, pancreas, larynx, throat and esophagus. Smoking is a leading cause of diabetes.

Smoking causes effects on other systems which are:

Respiratory system- leading to damage of lungs and causing lung cancer.
Reproductive system- it can lead to infertility in both man and woman. Smoking also increases a woman's risk of miscarriage and premature delivery.

Diseases caused by long-term smoking includes
- Cancers (lung, mouth, nose, larynx, bone marrow, kidney, cervical, etc.
- lung diseases
- pulmonary diseases
- heart diseases and stroke
- ulcers
- hip fracture.


Smoking leads to damages in organs of the body systems, so if you are a smoker, try quiting now or you will find it difficult later. If you are an addict, you should still quit but there is no tendency that you will be medically fit.
